About the author
Margaret has been writing for over 35 years. She started writing in the late 1970s because she wanted to see if she could put a whole story down on paper. That book is still in the drawer and will never see the light of day. But she was able to finish a book, which was her goal.
She decided after that to get some help, and joined a writers' roundtable where she met once a week with some fellow writers who went over each other's work. She sold her first book in the early 1980s and has been selling ever since. She loves to tell a story. When she was a little girl she made up stories while playing with her dolls. On long trips with her family she would weave a story about the surrounding countryside. From those early beginnings grew a love of entertaining people with a story. She has sold nearly 5 million books worldwide with over 90 books.
When she went away to college, she met her husband, Mike, to whom she has been married for over 40 years. He is her support and her best friend. She has always felt she was the luckiest woman the day she bumped into him on campus.
When they married, they moved to Tulsa, where she finished her degree in special education and began teaching. She loved teaching and working with students with special needs. They helped her remember what is important in life. She also participated in the Special Olympics as a coach with her students and has attended the State Games in May for years. Recently she retired from teaching to write full-time.
Besides teaching and writing, she is also a mother of one. Her son, Shaun, loves animals and there have been times they could have their own zoo at the house. The most interesting pet Shaun had is a leopard tortoise, which could outlive him. She has joked that his children will be inheriting a tortoise. He is married with four daughters.
When she isn't working, she loves to read, travel, and go to lunch and a movie with a friend. She has been to many countries in the world and loves to meet new people. Her favorite place is Tahiti -- Bora Bora. It is as beautiful as all the pictures portray it.
In her travels she has found herself in some interesting situations. Once, in London, she got caught in the middle of a protest that later turned into a riot over poll taxes. In the rain forest of Costa Rica, she was covered from head to toe in mud and ruined a perfectly good outfit. She should have remembered it was going to be wet since it was called a rain forest. In Rio, she and a friend were left with no means to get back to the hotel on the other side of the city. Neither Margaret nor her companion spoke Portuguese and there wasn't a cab in sight. Thankfully one finally pulled up to the curb at the museum because she couldn't see herself hiking across Rio to get back to the hotel at night.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2018My review today is on the suspense, Deadly Dose. This is book six in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations Series. I always enjoy Margaret's books, don't you? This story is an excellent example of her work; it is well written, action packed and full of suspense. She has woven her faith through out the book much like a fine tapestry. I know you are going to love it.
Jessie Michaels has returned home after the murder of her best friend. It had been a rough time for her family. Her brother had been accused of murdering his wife and put into prison. His mother-in-law had taken his daughter away. Once they found his wife was killed by a serial killer he is released and the child returned. Jessie is cleaning out Mary Lou's closet for her mother when she finds a letter that is written to her. Her friend tells about a drug problem with the teen she is mentoring. Jessie is determined to find her friend's killer and what is happening to their town. Who would believe her partner would turn out to be a Morgan, her sister-in-law's brother? How could she get involved with him when they are in a feud.
Josh Morgan spent time with his niece in Florida. Her father insisted that his sister Jessie go with them to protect Abby. Jessie challenged him about paying back for all his wealth. Now he has become a mentor of a teen boy. Something is going on with the boy and he is badly beaten. Jessie shows up and helps him but the girl Jessie wants to mentor (Mary Lou's teen) has disappeared. The two of them set out to find the answers but the more they investigate the more attacks are made on them. Josh is drawn to Jessie; can they find who is out to destroy them and find a future together?
A journey of forgiveness, trust, and love. God has a plan for these two, a plan for good and not for evil. God has a plan for you too, to give you a hope and a future. Make Him Lord of your life and watch Him turn your life around.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2017While this book didn't have anything ground breaking, it was well done. It receives four stars for holding my interest but not going the extra mile. I found the drug conspiracy to be almost too confusing with too many working parts. As a reader I like to feel as though it's possible to pick out the bad guy. It was confusing when there were five or six people somehow connected. I also wished there had been a little more romance. I liked how Josh and Jessie moved from enemies to friends to lovers but it was difficult to see where the transition took place. I would have enjoyed more interaction between them. But, this might have been easier if I had read the previous novel in the series which I think they played a part.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2017This is another great suspense in this series of Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations. We met Jessie Michaels in Deadly Noel. She is the sister of Gabriel Michaels. She is determined to find how who killed her best friend, Mary Lou. When Mary Lou's mom asked Jessie to go through Mary Lou's room to deal with her things, she finds a note in a special hiding place that just the two knew about. It was written to Jessie and gave her clues about something that she was checking out, something that may have gotten her killed. She reluctantly allowed Josh Morgan, Gabriel's former brother-in-law, to help her in her quest for answers, a quest that put her and others in danger. This is a great mystery that kept me wanting to read until I finished and found answers. I have to say that the ending was a surprise. We get to see Gabriel, Kira, Abbey and other characters from Deadly Noel. I would definitely read Deadly Noel first. Margaret Daley is great at keeping one interested and guessing until the end. Her characters are well developed and likable and the story has a great plot. I highly recommend this fast read.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2017Jessie couldn't get past of what Josh and his mother thought, that her brother was guilty of murder. Even after he was cleared, his mother in law didn't want him to raise his daughter. So more anger, and tension, with the father marrying again. Then when murders started happening, they realize there was more to the murder a year ago, now drugs are involved. A good story for all to enjoy.the twists of murder, drugs, and second chance at love. Will keep you guessing to the end.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2016Abbey & Josh were enemies because of her brother being charged wth his sister's murder. When he was found innocent, Abbey & Josh were forced to rethink their attitudes. In this story, their town's had several murders linked to a drug ring. Can they put aside their differences & work together in solving the murders, stopping the spread of illegal drugs? This is a story filled with suspense & a little romance. God demands we forgive others & that's shown in this book. What a wonderful series!

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but little substance
Not nearly as good as many "Christian whodunnits" I've read. The plot was OK but rather lightweight. A good mystery should have far more twists and turns and keep us guessing right to the end. The romance part was also too obvious with few surprises or complications, and the "Christian" content almost nonexistent, even as a sub-plot.
I enjoyed it while it lasted, but won't be ordering any more from this author. I feel rather guilty at posting such a negative review, but have to be honest.
